Divisions and families

Running a group that has groups under it.

What a family is​

A main group with division groups beneath it. Each division runs its own Roblox group and its own Discord server, and the main group sits above them.

/config family parent_group_id: 1234567

Run that in the division's server, naming the parent. The bot refuses to build a loop, so you cannot make two groups each other's parent.

What the parent gets​

Rank in the parent carries downward. Somebody who is HR in the main group is HR in every division below it, without anyone granting that separately.

Permission grants carry downward too. A points grant made in the parent works in every division. The same grant made in a division stays there and does not climb up.

That direction is the whole design. Authority flows down, never up.

What stays separate​

Points. Each group keeps its own. Somebody with 400 points in a division starts at zero in the parent.

Ranks. Each group has its own ladder and its own Roblox group.

Settings. Each server keeps its own channels, formats and modules.

/record reads across the whole family by default, so a punishment issued in one division is visible in the parent and in the others.

Your own words for things​

Groups do not agree on what to call things. One group's Intel branch is another's Security Directorate.

Set your own labels in the group's settings and every message the bot sends in your servers uses them: what the intel branch is called, what a suspended rank is called, and what an expulsion is called.

That is presentation only. It changes what people read, not who can do what.

It's not working​

Somebody is HR in the parent but has no HR role in a division. Rank carries down as a permission level, not as a Discord role. They can run HR commands there; giving them a visible role needs a binding in that server.

A grant made in a division does not work in the parent. Correct. Grants flow down, not up.

/config family says it would create a cycle. The group you named already sits below this one somewhere. Walk the chain and pick the real parent.

Points from a division showed up in the parent's leaderboard. They did not. The leaderboard is per group, and the server you ran it in decides which group you are looking at.

Your custom labels are not showing. They apply to messages the bot composes. Anything you typed yourself, like a channel name or a role name, is yours to change.
