Applications

One front door for every opening on the network.

What it covers

Rank applications, division intake, staff roles and game teams all go through the same page. Before it, each of those was somebody's own form in somebody's own server, and nobody could see the whole picture.

Applying

Open Applications, pick an opening, answer the questions, send it.

You do not fill in who you are. Your identity is attached on the server side from the account you signed in with, so an application always carries a real person rather than a name somebody typed. That is also why you cannot apply while signed out.

Reviewing

Reviewers get a queue of people, not a pile of anonymous form responses. Each entry carries the applicant's profile, so the ranks they already hold and the groups they are in are one click away rather than something to ask about.

Who may review is a permission on the group the opening belongs to.

Privacy

Submissions are personal data and are treated as such. They are fetched fresh from gated endpoints each time a reviewer opens the page, and they are never held in the app's shared cache, so they cannot leak into a page somebody else is looking at.

A submission is not public and never becomes public, whatever the outcome.

What happened to Boards

Boards was a kanban that nothing moved through. It was replaced rather than fixed, because the problem was not the board: applications are a queue with a decision at the end, and a queue is the honest shape for that.

When you are stuck

There are no openings listed

Nothing is open right now, or the groups running them have marked them closed. Openings belonging to a group that has withdrawn from the network are filtered out entirely.

I cannot press apply

You are signed out, or you are signed in without a Titanite verification. Applications attach your identity server-side and there is nothing to attach yet.

I applied and nothing happened

Sending it is the whole action. There is no confirmation email and no ticket. Reviewers see it in their queue, and you hear back through Discord.

I want to withdraw an application

Ask the group running it. There is no self-serve withdrawal, deliberately: a reviewer part way through reading something should not have it vanish.
